GST tax invoice and quotation software for Australian businesses

For builders, contractors, tradies and small manufacturers who quote and invoice from the job site.

My Factory Bills now works for Australian businesses as well as Indian ones. When you create your firm you choose Australia, and the whole app switches to Australian rules: your ABN on tax invoices, your QBCC licence number on quotations, GST at 10% with GST-free lines, amounts in Australian dollars, and a 1 July to 30 June financial year.

What an Australian firm gets

Tax invoices that show your ABN

Every invoice is headed “TAX INVOICE” and carries your business name, your ABN, the invoice date and number, the customer, a description of each item, the GST on it, and the total in AUD with a clear “Total includes GST of …” line. You can put lines at 10% GST or mark them GST-free, and the app adds it up for you — GST is worked out line by line, then totalled, to the cent.

Your ABN is required to create an Australian firm and is checked against the ABN check digit, so a mistyped number is caught before it reaches a customer. An invoice will not be produced until your ABN is on the firm.

Quotations with your QBCC licence number

Quotations are different: they print your QBCC licence number and do not print your ABN. Add the licence number once in your firm settings and it appears on every quotation; the app will not produce a quotation until it is filled in. Quotations carry a valid-until date, can be shared as a PDF straight from your phone, and an accepted quote converts to an invoice in one tap — no retyping.

A GST summary you can work your BAS from

Pick a period and download a GST summary as an Excel workbook: total sales including GST (G1), GST-free sales (G3), GST on sales (1A), total purchases (G11), GST on purchases (1B) and the net GST payable, with the sales and purchase bills behind each figure listed on their own sheets. Hand it to your accountant or BAS agent, or use it to prepare your own activity statement.

The GST summary is a worksheet. My Factory Bills does not lodge your BAS or report to the ATO, and it is not a substitute for advice from your accountant or BAS agent — it is the set of numbers they would otherwise have to build from your paperwork.

Documents that look the way you want

Choose between three PDF layouts for your invoices and quotations — Classic (boxed), Modern (your firm colour on the title and table) and Minimal (plain and compact) — and add your logo. You can preview each with your own details before you pick one.
