GST billing software for manufacturers in India
Most accounting software in India was written for traders and shops. A manufacturing unit is a different animal: you buy raw material on credit, convert it, sell on credit, and chase payment on both sides — while GST has to be right on every document. My Factory Bills is built for that, and it is built to be used from a phone in a workshop, not from a desk.

1. Tax invoices that hold up
A GST tax invoice is not just a bill with a total. It has to carry your GSTIN and the buyer's, the HSN code for what you sold, the taxable value, and the correct tax split — CGST plus SGST when the buyer is in your state, IGST when they are not. Get the place of supply wrong and you have an incorrect return to amend later.
My Factory Bills applies that split automatically from the buyer's state, keeps HSN codes on your items so they carry through to every invoice, and prints amounts in words. You pick the party and the items; the compliance detail is handled.
2. The purchase side, not just sales
Manufacturers spend as much time on purchases as on sales. Raw material, packaging, job work, freight — each with its own supplier, its own credit period, and its own input tax credit sitting inside it. Software that only does sales invoices leaves you tracking half your business in a diary.
Purchases are a first-class part of the app: log the supplier bill, and it flows into your payables and your input tax picture at the same time.
3. Who owes you, and who you owe
This is the number that actually keeps factory owners up at night. Receivables and payables update as you bill and as you pay, so the answer to "how much is stuck in the market?" is on the dashboard rather than reconstructed from a notebook at month end.
4. Payroll and attendance for shop-floor staff
Factory payroll rarely looks like office payroll — it is attendance, overtime, advances and cash payouts. That is built in on the Growth plan, so wages stop living in a separate register.
5. It has to work where the factory is
Connectivity in an industrial area is not the connectivity of an office. My Factory Bills installs on your phone like a normal app and keeps working with no internet — entries queue on the device and sync the moment the network is back. You are never stopped from raising a bill because a tower is down.
Why not just use Excel?
Excel is free and flexible, and for the first fifty invoices it is genuinely fine. It stops being fine at the points where it costs you money:
- Invoice numbering breaks. Duplicate or skipped numbers in a series are a problem at filing time, and a copied sheet makes them easy to create.
- Tax is typed, not computed. One wrong formula copied down a column becomes a wrong return.
- There is one file, on one laptop. Your staff cannot enter a bill while you have it open, and the laptop is a single point of failure.
- Nothing adds up on its own. Outstanding dues, GSTR-1 totals, monthly sales — all of it is re-done by hand every time you need it.
The app gives you those totals as a by-product of entering the bill once, and still exports to Excel when your CA wants a sheet.
GST returns without the month-end scramble
Because every invoice and purchase is already structured, the app produces the summaries you need at filing time — sales and purchase registers, and GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B summary reports — as Excel and PDF downloads. Filing becomes reading numbers off a report instead of rebuilding them from bills.
My Factory Bills prepares the figures and the registers. It does not file on your behalf, and it is not a substitute for your CA's advice — it is what you hand them so their job takes an hour instead of a week.
What it costs
One flat price per account — no per-user charge, and mobile plus desktop are both included. Starter is ₹159/month for a single firm; Growth at ₹399/month adds payroll and up to three firms; Business at ₹799/month covers unlimited firms. Yearly and three-year terms cost less per month. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial that needs no card. See the full pricing table.
Getting started takes an evening
- Sign up and create your firm with its GSTIN.
- Add the parties and items you bill most — the ten or fifteen that cover most of your work.
- Raise your next real invoice in the app instead of on paper.
- Use backfill mode to enter this year's earlier bills at their original dates, so your dues and registers are complete rather than starting from today.
Try it on your next invoice
If it does not save you time in two weeks, you have lost nothing — no card, no commitment.
